It all started with big dreams and future goals....as a little boy four, five, maybe six I knew I always wanted to be a truck driver. I grew up on a farm in an area called Crystal Valley and took in every aspect of learning about machinery, and how things worked. As I grew up, I learned the ins and outs of business from working with my father. He had a small window cleaning and bee removal business...so it just makes sense I would one day be running my own small business.
The sheds came would come later...
When I moved out, I worked hard to get on my own feet, so much that I rode a bike 20 miles each way to one of my first jobs cleaning at Birkett Mills (Penn Yan, NY), after a while I took a job at a machine shop which helped my growth in precision and measurements.
Fast forward to January 2016, I moved to a new town and started a new job at Woodtex Buildings...this is where the sheds come in! I started out on the building line and part of an on-site build team.
Unfortunately, in the middle of February of 2016, my now wife and I were in a motor vehicle accident that put things to a halt...we were lucky to even be alive, but God apparently still had and still has plans for us. I broke both my legs so bad that I was told I may never walk again. However, I was not going to let that happen, around April 2016 I began pushing myself to walk again (with plenty of tumbles to the floor). By the middle of May 2016, I was walking enough with a cane and tired of not working, I had to go back and do something. Going back to Woodtex they offered to let me pilot car oversized loads, and of course I started as fast as I could. With this opportunity I was able to travel to states I'd never been too such as Colorado and all the states in between! Giving me the chance to experience different places other than NY. I did pilot car for a little bit, even taking it over as my own business.
However, this just was not enough for me I wanted more growth, so I began the process of getting my CDL. In the meantime, I started hauling some small buildings on a 1 ton dually and building supplies for Woodtex. In 2018 I finally got my CDL license and started hauling buildings with a semi-truck.
Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances I would have to find different work in 2019, and ended up hauling milk tanker, feed truck, and even heavy haul.
Around this time, my wife and I, had been looking at different states to move to, longing for a bit of change. Unfortunately nothing seemed to be falling into place until March 2021... we found a Facebook post for a Texas company looking for a shed delivery driver...jokingly I asked for a bit more information thinking again it would amount to nothing, what we didn't know is a couple short weeks later we would be moving our little family across the county and moving to Texas, where I would again be hauling portable buildings. Ever since then I have been hauling portable buildings in Texas.
In September 2024, my then employer gave me the opportunity to purchase the rig I had been using to haul for him. I took the leap, and thus Crystal Valley Transport was born. Every opportunity I have had up to this point was a steppingstone and a chance for growth to help me reach this dream of mine. Though it has not been the easiest getting to this point I am grateful for where I am.
I have worked so many aspects of the shed industry between building, on-sites, pilot car, and many miles of hauling buildings I am confident I can provide you with the best hauling and set up experience. We look forward to working with you!
